No — you can self-refer directly. You don't need your GP's permission or a referral letter to book a private physiotherapy appointment. Simply contact us and we can get started straight away.
This varies significantly by condition, severity, and how long the problem has been present. Many acute issues resolve in 4–6 sessions; complex or chronic conditions may require more. We'll give you an honest estimate at your initial assessment and review it regularly as you progress.
Most major private health insurers cover physiotherapy, including BUPA, AXA Health, Vitality, Aviva, and Cigna. You'll usually need a valid policy reference number and sometimes a GP referral for the insurer — check with your provider first. We're happy to liaise directly with insurers on your behalf.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the area being assessed (e.g. shorts for knee/hip, a vest for shoulder). Bring any relevant scan results, letters from your GP or hospital, and a list of any medications you're taking. Arrive 5 minutes early to complete a short intake form.
Some techniques — particularly deep tissue massage or mobilisation of stiff joints — can be mildly uncomfortable in the moment, but we always work within your comfort level and communicate throughout. You should not experience lasting pain after a session. Any short-term soreness (similar to post-exercise) is normal and usually resolves within 24–48 hours.
Yes — we offer fully online consultations for follow-up appointments, exercise prescription reviews, and postural assessments. After booking, you'll receive a link to join your session via Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams — whichever you prefer. During the session, we'll guide you through an assessment using your webcam, observe your movement patterns, and demonstrate exercises. You'll also receive a personalised exercise plan with video demonstrations after each session.
You'll need a device with a camera and microphone (smartphone, tablet, or computer) and a stable internet connection. No special software is needed — sessions work through your web browser or a free app. We'll send you simple instructions before your first session.
As an online physiotherapy service, we can see patients anywhere in the UK. All you need is a good internet connection. We're based in Manchester but treat patients from Scotland to Cornwall. Virtual consultations only — no travel needed.
